This model, derived from small sketches made in 2022, is the first of a sculpture-series to be made in 2026. Here the human figure takes on a whole new aspect when compared to earlier pieces. Instead of “ghost-like” forms rising from a single column, we see two human-like legs. And the figures stand in relation to each other in ways not previously seen.

The theme as suggested by the title is a reference to a transformative phase of individuation. The pairs consisting of male and female represent opposing and complementary principles of life. The central forms represent the creative fire or energy that “burns away” the old to reveal the new. Altogether the whole composition is a real-life expression of a dream that unfolds and plays out in the inward and outward spaces of a creative individuation and life.
